I have asked Sindhu if she likes to have also her last year pictures on myblog.
For some reason this communication did not work out.
I have decided to put up my favourite selection.
There we go. (See here for lots of last year pics).
Here we are, taking a break during our walk up to Ashkand Ashram. On the background is Tiruvannamalai.
Sindhu, on the rooftop terrace of German Bakery, eating pie.
Meeting with Kumar and Sindhu’s mother.
My favourite pic of this visit: mother and daughter.
This following I wrote on my Dutch blog last Januari. I just translate it, it belongs here:
I gave the mother of Sindhu the by now traditional sack of rice.
And Sindhu got a bicycle as a gift; I had told her, with Kumar as a translator, that I had this time no gift with me, but that I invited her to think of a gift that is special for her, something she would otherwise not have. Kumar immediately gave as an example “a new dress for Pongol”. She asked, “Why do you ask?” I do not know, I said, it just feels like I want to give you something special. She said she wanted to think about it. After a week the answer came: I want a bike. I told her via Kumar: “For a second I was surprised. Then I found it suddenly so wise of you to have chosen something really useful. Wow. I’m proud of you.”
There they go, with the bag of rice and the bicycle in use as a carrier.
Hello folks, how are you doing?
Farewell meeting with Robert and Kevin.
Sans mots. (French for: no words needed).
Shortly the communication with Kumar started moving and he sent me some information about Sindhu:
Sindhu is doing fine, happy, healthy, and studying well. I meet her almost everyday!
Sindhu got some certificate and prize for her sports participation at her school, i am telling her to keep it up. I think she will be shining with her sports activity in the future also. That news came in the local news paper also with her name and her teachers with her on the photo. We are proud of her, shared this news in the tuition centre with the other children. She also wrote a small letter for you, which we scanned and send you with this email.
